Educating young minds, saving their future.

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Education is a seed that grows and flourishes for anyone who decides to improve and enrich their life. The very essence of learning is to open doors to new opportunities, beginnings, and a balanced lifestyle. We may have come across many hardships while pursuing our education and may have also dreaded answering exams and submitting projects or dissertations. However, the end result of such a difficult journey is definitely worthwhile. We can contribute to society with our findings, share our knowledge with those who are eager to learn, and make a difference in our lives as well.

Our organization strives to make this difference in the lives of impoverished children who have many dreams of having a safe and secure future. Children from such backgrounds often end up in the hands of child labour. Child labour in India is a serious issue despite the presence of laws such as the child and adolescent labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, that prohibit the employment of a child in any setting, including domestic help or in any hazardous conditions. The purpose of El Shaddai is to create a safe, secure, and bright future for underprivileged children, and we work our best to do the same.

This is the story of Neeta (name changed). She was found by our outreach workers in one of the slum areas. Her family is very poor and cannot afford to educate her, nor do they have access to proper nutrition and healthcare. Her mother, who is a balloon seller, was about to make her child do the same so that they could have a little more earning. Our team counselled them and encouraged her to send her child to our children’s home, where she can be educated, have nutritious meals, and have a normal childhood. After a lot of persuasion, her parents agreed to do so. Now, the child has been enrolled in our organization and has been attending our school.

Through your contributions, we have been able to extend our services to those children who were eagerly waiting for a helping hand. We will always abide by our mission, to reach out to these young minds so that they can fulfill their dreams and live normal, happy lives. We are more than grateful for your support!

Sincerely,

El Shaddai Family.
