Dear Donor,
Education is one of the most powerful tools to end exploitation because it provides individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to break free from cycles of abuse and inequality.
At El Shaddai, we provide awareness and empowerment through education which will help individuals to change their mindsets and aid in challenging societal norms that perpetuate exploitation, like discrimination or inequality, and will promote a more equitable and just society. The El Shaddai schools offer functional literacy programmes for marginalized children. Students are placed in classes according to their abilities ensuring a personalized learning experience.
The education we provide will help individuals understand their rights, identify exploitative situations, and know where to seek help. This awareness is crucial in preventing exploitation, whether it's child labour, trafficking, or gender-based violence. Poverty is a major driver of exploitation. Education provides the tools to escape poverty, breaking the intergenerational cycle of inequality and dependence that often leads to exploitation. This year we have provided 1494 children with access to free quality education.
We have a beautiful story of a little girl named Raha (name changed). She had no proper home, no proper food and no access to any type of schooling. Every day all she would see were the balloons her mother used to sell on the busy highways in the hot scorching sun. She would often see children of her age going to school and learning so many things and wished to do so. Her mother did not have any access to making her daughter's dreams come true. But fortunately one day she came across our El Shaddai Staff who led them to our shelter and our slum school education programme. Under this programme, the little girl became a symbol of hope and resilience, a living testament to the power of education in transforming lives.
Education doesn’t just impart knowledge; it is a foundation for dignity, equality, and freedom from exploitation. We extend our gratitude to you all for joining hands in touching countless lives, bringing hope to children and creating brighter futures for all.
With Gratitude,
Sincerely
El Shaddai Family!
