Transforming Lives through the power of Education

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. We bring to you our latest report on “Education can end exploitation of 1000 children”.

Education can play a transformative role in improving the lives of people living in slums. It can help address several critical issues they face, such as poverty, lack of basic services, and limited opportunities.

El Shaddai has focused efforts on educating the marginalized communities. For this purpose, El Shaddai started formal, non- formal and slum schooling so that every child is able to get the basic rights and transform their lives to a better one.

Every month a total of 973 underprivileged children receive education.

We have a story of a boy named Preetam (name changed) who was able to open doors for himself with the help of education and with this gift he was able to change his future to a better one.

He lived in one of the slums of the calangute area. He lived with a family of eight and the parents were not able to provide education to him and his siblings. Education was a far of dream because they could even afford proper food. One day he met our team members who were having an outreach program on importance of education and this boy was truly inspired by it. He asked whether he could join this program along with his siblings. To his joy he was welcomed with open arms to our Day care shelter named “Little Acorns”. Here he was able to make his dreams come true. He is now studying in grade seven and aspires to join the El Shaddai team and help other children like him to take the wings of education and change their lives to a better one.

El Shaddai plays an essential role in overcoming barriers to education in slums, whether through building infrastructure, providing financial support, offering alternative education models, or addressing social and gender inequalities. It is with the aid and support of sponsors and well-wishers like you that we can ensure that children in slum areas can access quality education and have a better chance of breaking the cycle of poverty.

The El Shaddai education programs, will empower children in slum areas to achieve their dreams, break free from the constraints of poverty, and become active contributors to their communities.

We extend our gratitude for making the dreams of these children come true and we thank you for your continuous love and support for the work we do.

With Gratitude,

Sincerely

El Shaddai Family
