Refugees fleeing violence in Serbia, Iraq and Syria have established their own "camp" in Lebanon making a long-term community as best as they are able. Working with UNHCR, these refugees have established latrines. Working with GHNIs team, they've dug a well for clean water and begun growing vegetables and fruit in a nearby plot. Recently, working together, they've begun educating young children in a "home-school" setting. Please help continue to develop a community of dignity and belonging.
Refugees fled violence in neighboring countries, Lebanon opened their doors for them to find safe harbor. Unfortunately, there are so many needs, beyond land and space to live, basic needs are limited without your help. Food, shelter, and education are greatly needed by these families. Children must receive medical care and the elderly living in tents often suffer great hardship.
GHNIs teams work alongside these refugees by empowering them to find solutions. The community worked with UNHCR to provide latrines. They worked with GHNI to bring a solution to water by digging wells. The refugee families are working together to grow vegetables and fruit on a "loaned" nearby plot. And....they are now seeking to educate their children.
Your giving will impact the lives of children for generations. Children who grow up in a community where hope is evident, see a brighter future for themselves. Through lessons on working to provide food for families and lessons on how to maintain hygiene that prevents disease, families build a foundation for generations to come.
