Access to healthcare in the Bakwa community is a significant challenge with pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers resorting to unsafe herbal remedies due to lack of access to antenatal care. Women, children and the elderly trek long distances to access healthcare, exacerbating maternal and infant mortality rates. Establishment and equipping a health facility in this community is necessary not only to address these issues but also to serve nearby communities (Batanga, Assaka, and Ikwebo) lacking healthcare access.
The Solution
Constructing and equipping the Bakwa Integrated Health Center to improve access to healthcare for over 1500 people in Bakwa and nearby communities (Batanga, Assaka, and Ikwebo).
We are thrilled to share the progress of our Bakwa Integrated Health Center project. Thanks to your generous support, we have made significant strides in transforming the health facility into a safe and functional space for the community and it environ.
Key achievement:
Roofing: The roofing structure is completed, providing a waterproof and secure environment for patients and healthcare providers. Installation of ceiling is ongoing.
Plastering: The external and Internal wall plastering work is ongoing.
Thank you:
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, partners and supporters for their unwavering commitment to this project. Together we are making a lasting impact in the lives of women and children in this community.
