Build Roofs for 50 Poor Egyptian Families!

Financial & Campaign Status

  • Total Campaign Goal: $15,000
  • Funds Raised (to date): $2,752
  • Remaining Amount: $12,248
  • Number of Donors: 5
  • Monthly Donors: 0
  • Campaign Phase: Active Fundraising & Initial Implementation Launch

Dear GlobalGiving Community,

Thank you for standing with vulnerable families in Asyut, Egypt, who are facing harsh winter conditions without adequate shelter. Many households are enduring freezing temperatures with damaged roofs, poor insulation, and limited access to blankets, warm clothing, or heating supplies. Under these conditions, winter becomes a direct threat to health, safety, and dignity.

Through American Aid (A A Relief) and our Winter Shelter Initiative, we are working to restore protection and stability by repairing roofs (addressing leaks and insulation), and providing essential winter supplies so families can survive the cold safely.

Progress Update (This Quarter)

This quarter, the campaign reached 5 donors, and based on the current campaign totals, we have raised $2,752 toward our $15,000 goal.

Most importantly, we are now moving from planning into action: we are starting with the first project. This marks a critical transition from readiness to implementation, allowing us to begin delivering real shelter improvements as funding grows.

Key progress and readiness steps this quarter included:

  • Finalizing priority household selection through community verification
  • Confirming contractor coordination and material sourcing plans for roof repair work
  • Preparing documentation and tracking so we can report clearly on repairs completed, materials used, and families supported

Community Need & Why This Project Matters

The need in Asyut remains urgent:

  • Families face winter with leaking roofs and poor insulation, increasing exposure to cold and illness.
  • Economic hardship prevents households from affording repairs, blankets, or heating support.
  • Unsafe shelter conditions can disrupt children’s well-being and stability, affecting school attendance and daily life.

This project protects families from life-threatening cold while restoring dignity and a sense of security at home.

Program Model (What Funding Will Deliver)

As funding grows, American Aid (A A Relief) will deliver winter protection through:

  • Roof repairs to address leaks and improve insulation
  • Distribution of warm clothing, blankets, and heating supplies
  • Quality control and follow-up to ensure repairs are durable and effective

We will prioritize the most vulnerable households and share transparent updates on outputs and outcomes.

Challenges & Strategic Response

Primary Challenge: Winter needs are immediate, and funding is still far below what is required to repair roofs and provide supplies at scale.

Our response:

  • Launching implementation in phases, beginning with the first verified project
  • Strengthening local sourcing and contractor coordination to control costs
  • Improving documentation to build donor confidence through clear, accountable reporting

Next Quarter Plan

In the next quarter, we plan to:

  1. Complete the first roof repair project and document results.
  2. Expand to additional priority households as funding allows.
  3. Begin distribution of winter essentials (blankets, warm clothing, heating support) for the most vulnerable families.
  4. Share clear reporting on outputs (homes repaired, supplies distributed) and early outcomes (improved warmth and safety).

Expected Long-Term Impact

With consistent support, this initiative will:

  • Reduce winter-related health risks for vulnerable families
  • Improve living conditions and household stability
  • Help families focus on education and employment instead of emergency survival
  • Strengthen community resilience by addressing urgent shelter needs and supporting long-term well-being

Thank you for helping us move from planning into action. By supporting the first roof repair project and the next families in line, you are providing safety, warmth, and dignity to households facing winter without protection.

With gratitude,

The American Aid (A A Relief) Team IRS-registered 501(c)(3) — all donations are tax-deductible
