Build Roofs for Families Without Shelter in Egypt

By Salah Kamal | Founder & President

Campaign Status Overview:
• Goal: $15,000
• Funds Raised: $613 (4.1% of target)
• Number of Donors: 3
• Remaining: $14,387 (95.9% remaining)
Progress Update:
During this reporting quarter, American Aid (A A Relief) has maintained our steadfast commitment to providing essential shelter solutions through our Winter Shelter Initiative in Asyut, Egypt. While our funding remains at $613 from our 3 generous donors, we have continued strengthening our operational foundation and deepening our understanding of the critical shelter needs facing vulnerable families confronting winter without adequate protection.
Our team has sustained active partnerships with local contractors and community leaders, positioning us to deliver comprehensive roof repairs and winter protection services that will restore security and dignity to families enduring freezing temperatures without proper shelter, blankets, or warm clothing.
Strategic Development Achieved:
• Completed comprehensive assessments of priority households requiring immediate roof repairs
• Refined detailed cost estimates for addressing leaks and poor insulation issues
• Established strong relationships with local suppliers for cost-effective material sourcing
• Developed comprehensive implementation protocols for quality roof repair work
• Created robust beneficiary verification systems to reach most vulnerable families
• Enhanced partnerships with local contractors for efficient project execution
Community Engagement Focus:
Our work in Asyut has strengthened through direct engagement with families facing life-threatening winter conditions due to economic hardships and inadequate shelter. We've maintained our dignity-focused approach through:
• Active involvement of community leaders in identifying priority families
• Comprehensive documentation of family shelter needs and vulnerabilities
• Technical assessment protocols ensuring proper repair specifications
• Safety protocols protecting both workers and beneficiary families during repairs
Challenges & Strategic Response:
The primary challenge remains securing adequate funding to begin roof repair operations. With 4.1% of our goal achieved, we're addressing this through:
• Expanding partnerships with organizations focused on shelter and housing assistance
• Building comprehensive documentation of winter vulnerability in Asyut communities
• Developing compelling case studies highlighting families facing harsh winter conditions
• Optimizing repair costs through enhanced local supplier relationships
Looking Forward:
Despite funding challenges, our commitment to ensuring no family in Asyut faces winter without adequate shelter remains unwavering. We stand ready to implement comprehensive winter protection services:
• Emergency roof repairs addressing leaks and insulation problems
• Distribution of warm clothing, blankets, and heating supplies
• Quality control measures ensuring lasting shelter improvements
• Community involvement framework fostering local resilience
• Training programs for local maintenance teams ensuring sustainability
Every contribution brings us closer to protecting vulnerable families from bitter cold and providing them with safety, dignity, and the chance to survive harsh winter conditions. Through our "Generosity Builds Hope" mission, we're building the foundation to transform immediate shelter needs into long-term housing stability for Egypt's most vulnerable families.
Warmly,
The American Aid (A A Relief)
