Dear Friends,

Your support continues to bring hope to children affected by tuberculosis (TB) in Vietnam. Over the last few months, our focus has been on laying the groundwork for the next phase of this project, ensuring strong partnerships and systems are in place so that every donation directly improves the lives of children and their families.

Progress this period

  • On July 23, 2025, FIT RD signed a contract with the Vietnam National Lung Hospital, officially recognizing and approving the project for implementation.
  • On August 1, 2025, we signed a second contract with the Vinh Long Lung Hospital, making it our first provincial partner.
  • On August 19, 2025, a coordination meeting was held at Vinh Long Provincial Lung Hospital, with participation from the Central Lung Hospital, Vinh Long Department of Health, local and regional medical centers, the U.S. CDC, and FIT representatives. The meeting reviewed TB prevention efforts in children, discussed challenges in diagnosis and treatment, and confirmed joint commitment to the project’s successful rollout.
  • We are currently negotiating with Bac Ninh (Bac Giang) Lung Hospital to further expand project activities.

What this means for children

These important steps ensure that children with TB, and those at risk, will soon have better access to screening, diagnosis, and treatment services. Families will also receive support with nutrition, transportation, and school fees, helping children complete their treatment while continuing their education.

Looking ahead

Between now and the end of 2025, activities will focus on:

  • Expanding screening and treatment for TB and latent TB in children,
  • Supporting families with essential costs to reduce barriers to care,
  • Gathering lessons learned to strengthen Vietnam’s national TB response.

Your generosity is making all of this possible. By standing with us, you are not only helping children receive life-saving care today, but also giving them the chance to grow up healthy, stay in school, and look forward to a brighter future.

Thank you,

The FIT Team
