Help Women by Providing Tailoring Training

We are incredibly happy and appreciative that our Vocational Training in Tailoring Project was chosen as the GlobalGiving Project Month of Club for March 2019, where a monthly donation pool is used to support our charitable endeavors. Once again, we appreciate your support of our worthy cause. Your prompt and kind donations have been instrumental in empowering women and girls by providing training in fashion design. We really appreciate your donation to the GlobalGiving Foundation, USA, which supports charities that assist economically disadvantaged women.

Our primary focus is on livelihood programs for women and girls, with the ultimate goal of fostering sustainable livelihoods and enhancing the confidence of SHGs and Ikya Sanghams. began offering women training programs for self-employment 16 years ago, and since then, it has improved the lives of numerous women and their families.

Girls and women who have been denied opportunities have been learning, and some of them have begun small businesses making blouses, zari work for sarees, and school uniforms. They make an extra Rs. 5,500 a month from this profession to help support their family. 

With additional money coming into the family, school-age children are making good academic progress. We have been giving women from the sparingly backward portions of Mandlem Village and Praja Nagar a six-month skills training in fashion design by offering classes and providing raw materials like threads, needles, garments, scissors, etc. Certificates of course completion are given to each batch, along with marketing skills orientation courses and escort services to help clients obtain bank and financial institution loans. We are able to provide women and girls with timely and skillful job-oriented training, as they deserve, thanks to your support.
