Dear Friends of SERUDS Non-profit,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous sponsorship of our mission to support economically disadvantaged women. Our primary focus is on livelihood programs that empower women and girls, creating sustainable sources of income and fostering confidence within Self-Help Groups. Since 2003, we have initiated self-employment training programs for impoverished women and girls, positively transforming the lives of numerous families. These programs have not only improved household incomes but have also supported educational opportunities for their children, as we continuously encourage the importance and value of education among these women.
Many women and girls in our program have developed valuable skills and launched small businesses, particularly in tailoring and embroidery. They now create a variety of products, including different types of blouses, intricate zari work on sarees, and uniforms for schoolchildren. Through these skills, they can earn an additional income of about Rs. 5,500 per month, which significantly helps them meet family needs and fund their children’s education.
Our six-month training programs in fashion design focus on women from the most disadvantaged communities in Mandlem Village and Praja Nagar. In each session, we train 25 women and girls, offering hands-on classes and materials such as threads, needles, fabric, and scissors. Upon completing the course, they receive a certificate of completion and participate in an orientation program that covers essential marketing skills and guidance on securing small business loans from financial institutions and banks.
Your kind donations make it possible for us to provide timely, job-oriented training for women and adolescent girls, creating real opportunities for them to achieve economic independence and stability.
Thank you for sponsoring life-changing fashion design courses and livelihood opportunities for women and girls in need.
