Respected Donor,

Warm greetings from SERUDS!

We extend our deepest gratitude for your generous support through GlobalGiving, which has been instrumental in transforming lives and empowering women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Since 2009, SERUDS has been conducting Vocational Skills Training Programs to create livelihood opportunities for underprivileged women. As part of our ongoing efforts in rural areas, we work closely with destitute women and adolescent girls, organizing fashion designing courses to help them gain employable skills. Many women from these rural communities approach us with a strong desire to learn and earn. Responding to their aspirations, we have been conducting these training sessions in Venkayapalle Village, Praja Nagar of Kurnool Mandal, and Mandlem of Nandikotkur Mandal in Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh.

Currently, 75 women and girls are undergoing training in three centers, with 25 participants in each batch. The program spans six months and focuses on equipping them with practical skills in fashion designing. The women are trained to stitch blouses, petticoats, school uniforms, saree falls, embroidery on cotton sarees, children’s wear, frocks, and more. Upon completing the training, many of these women are now earning a steady income of around 4,000 per month by taking orders from their local communities.

This additional income is making a significant difference in their lives. It is helping them support their children’s education and contribute to their family’s supplementary needs. Beyond the financial benefits, this initiative is fostering a sense of independence and dignity among these women, empowering them to lead lives without relying on others.

The impact of this program has been profound, not only on the trainees but also on their families. The women have expressed immense gratitude for this opportunity, and their enthusiasm is a testament to the success of this initiative.

None of this would have been possible without your kindness and support. Your contributions are helping these women survive, thrive, and secure employment opportunities that enable them to live with dignity and confidence.

Thank you for standing with us in this noble cause and for being a catalyst of change in the lives of these deserving women.
