Empowering Poor Women Through Tailoring & Fashion Designing Skills

Respected Donor,

Warm greetings from SERUDS India.

We express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support in empowering disadvantaged women and girls through our Tailoring, Embroidery, and Fashion Designing Training Program. Your contributions through the GlobalGiving Foundation have enabled us to uplift marginalized women and help them achieve financial independence with dignity.

Since 2007, SERUDS has been committed to providing livelihood-oriented vocational training for women who come from low-income families, single-parent households, and vulnerable communities. Over the years, hundreds of women have successfully completed our training and started earning a stable income by taking small stitching and embroidery orders from their neighbourhoods. Many now stitch blouses, petticoats, school uniforms, and even take up zari work, earning around 5000 per month—an income that brings immense relief to their households.

The impact of this skill training extends beyond the women themselves. With improved earnings, these mothers are able to send their children to school regularly, purchase educational materials, and reduce the risk of school dropout. This creates a positive ripple effect for the entire family.

With your generous support, we are currently conducting a six-month training program for 25 women per batch in Mandlem Village and Praja Nagar. We provide all essential training materials—threads, needles, cloth, scissors, and embroidery supplies—free of cost. Along with technical training, we also organize sessions on marketing skills, quality control, and guidance on accessing microloans from banks and financial institutions. At the end of the course, each trainee receives a certificate that helps them gain confidence and approach customers professionally.

This program is giving women the opportunity to build their own livelihoods, contribute to household income, and live with renewed pride and independence. Their progress is possible only because of your compassion and steady support.

Thank you once again for believing in the potential of these women and helping them move toward a brighter, self-reliant future. We are deeply grateful for your kindness.

Warm regards,
Team SERUDS India
