Respected Donors,

Warm greetings from SERUDS, and we wish you and your family a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year
As we begin the New Year, we are delighted to share the positive impact of our Skills Training Program implemented in the Shareen Urban Slum of Kurnool Municipal Corporation.

This initiative is designed to empower underprivileged women, widows, and adolescent girls who face limited opportunities due to economic hardships and traditional family constraints. The beneficiaries, aged between 15 and 35 years, often lack access to formal skills training, making it difficult for them to secure employment or start income-generating activities.

Recognizing their strong desire to learn and become self-reliant, SERUDS launched a six-month skills training program focusing on fashion designing, tailoring, embroidery, and zari work. To ensure quality instruction, we engaged a skilled and qualified trainer to guide the 25 women and girls enrolled in the program. SERUDS provides all required raw materials and tools, enabling participants to practice regularly and build confidence in their skills.

The training sessions are conducted for four hours daily, during which participants learn essential techniques such as designing, cutting, stitching, button sewing, embroidery patterns, and finishing methods. The enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment shown by the trainees throughout the program have been truly inspiring.

As their skills improve, many participants have already begun receiving small tailoring orders from neighbors and nearby communities. They are stitching blouses, petticoats, school uniforms, jackets, saree falls, innerwear, and other garments in demand. Through this work, several women are now earning approximately 180 per day, enabling them to contribute to household expenses and move toward financial independence.

Beyond income generation, this program has brought about a remarkable transformation in their lives by boosting self-confidence, dignity, and hope for the future. The smiles, gratitude, and determination expressed by these women and girls reflect the life-changing impact of your support.

We sincerely thank you for your generous contributions through the esteemed organization GlobalGiving. Your kindness has been instrumental in transforming lives, creating sustainable livelihoods, and empowering women and girls to stand on their own feet.

As we move forward into the New Year, we look forward to your continued support in helping us reach and empower many more deserving women.

With heartfelt gratitude and warm New Year wishes,

Team SERUDS
