Strengthen Development Alert-Permanent Office

1. What happened during this reporting period?

This project is still in the planning phase. No donations have been received yet, so no activities have started. Development Alert has focused on preparing for implementation by:

Researching suitable peri-urban land with electricity, internet, and better road access.
Planning the construction of a permanent office.
Identifying three key volunteers who will receive monthly facilitation once funds are available.
Raising awareness with potential supporters, partners, and the community.

2. What are the project’s challenges or obstacles?

The main challenge is the lack of funding, which prevents implementation. The current home-based rural office makes it difficult to:

Welcome donors, partners, and community members.
Access electricity and reliable internet.
Operate efficiently and support communities consistently.
Facilitate volunteers, who have been working tirelessly since 2020 without compensation.

3. What are the next steps for the project?

Once donations are received, the project will:

Purchase land in a peri-urban location.
Build a permanent office with electricity, internet, and better infrastructure.
Provide monthly facilitation (USD 200) to three key volunteers.
Begin full operations, allowing Development Alert to better support communities and donors.

Development Alert remains committed to this vision and looks forward to updating donors once implementation begins.

Building Stronger Foundation for Community Impact

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for following and believing in Development Alert’s journey. Since 2020, we have worked tirelessly—without offices, salaries, or steady resources—to empower underprivileged students and rural communities in Uganda. Our work has only been possible through the dedication of three key volunteers who have given their time, skills, and passion selflessly.

So far, this project has not yet received funding, but our vision remains clear and strong. We hope to acquire land in a more accessible location with electricity and internet connectivity, and to build a permanent office space for Development Alert. A permanent office will not only provide stability but also strengthen our visibility, credibility, and efficiency in delivering support to communities.

Additionally, part of the funding will go toward providing a monthly facilitation of $200 to at least three of our core volunteers. These individuals have sustained the organization from its earliest days, and supporting them means they can focus more deeply on mobilizing resources, coordinating community projects, and ensuring accountability in all we do.

We remain hopeful that with your support, this vision will come to life. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to:

Securing land in a central, accessible area.
Building a fully functional office with electricity and internet access.
Providing modest but meaningful facilitation for our dedicated volunteers.
