Thank you for supporting Diakassan at ACFA’s Children’s Home in Bamako!
Last year she wowed us by winning the bronze medal in fencing at the 2018 African Youth Games in Algeria.
Now in 7th grade, Diakassan continues in her superb athletic performance, and also excels in school. For the first quarter of this school year, she received the extraordinary overall average grade of 16. In the Malian system of grades from 0-20, a grade of 10 is average and top students usually achieve between 13-15. Diaskassan has improved more than we could have imagined, since coming to the ACFA home at age 7, unable to read or write.
We did not raise enough to cover her care for the year, and we ask you to please consider a small contribution towards the cost of her meals, education, sports, healthcare, etc. ACFA runs on a very lean budget, requiring only $3000 to care for a child for one year.
A matching campaign is coming up from April 8-12: every donation up to $50 will be matched at 60% by GlobalGiving. (If you give $20 that week, we receive $32 for Diakassan. If you give $50, we receive $80.) Please don't miss this opportunity to amplify your donation!
Be sure to follow us on facebook to keep up with the latest from Mali. ACFA hopes to continue growing its programs to serve more vulnerable children like Diakassan.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring and supporting the children however you can.
