It was an exciting movement to meet with Junior and his siblings. Abigail, who is the media and communication officer of VAAFD visited Junior and his sibling’s new home, and their new school in Gbarnga, Bong County. Junior was the first survivor from the Ebola Epidemic in 2014 in the ETU at the Phebe Hospital in Bong County and the sad story is that he lost his parents.

Junior survived with three sisters, and one biological brother, but one of His sisters Martha went to search for wild food in the bush and according to him, a snake attacked and bit her and she died. Mary, who was the oldest sister, disappeared at the age of 14 years and since then they have not seen her. With the help of our special donors, Junior and his siblings now live in the city of Gbarnga and attend one of the best schools in the county. With your wonderful donations, you have put smiles on these kids’ faces and see their dream become a reality.

Junior's new school is the St. Martin Catholic High School and he is currently in the 8th grade. I had a conversation with him about his new school, he said that the school was challenging as compared to his previous school. He also told me that coming from a very poor background and seeing himself attending one of the biggest High Schools in Bong County, is something that he never imagined in his life. He said that he is passionate about becoming a Medical Doctor. According to him, his parents died due to the insufficient doctors during the Ebola pandemic in Liberia.

Princess is another child who is doing exceptionally well in her studies at the Totota Lutheran High School in Bong County. She wants to thank her sponsors for supporting her; she said that this support has changed her life tremendously. She is overwhelmed by the level of support she has received from the sponsors over the past years and is grateful for the opportunity given her to dream again. She said that she will continue to push for the sky because she wants to make the difference in her village.

The others are also doing great in their lessons and are also grateful for the level of support you have shown to them over the years. Many thanks to our donors, sponsors and friends, we couldn’t have been successful in providing for the needs of these kids without your help. We need your support to help us move forward with this project, without your support we are unable to continue.

Junior and Sibling say goodbye to Totota

A big thank you to our friends, sponsors and donors for the work well done for their support and love provided us to relocate Junior and his siblings from Totota to Gbarnga. It was really challenging for the kids living in Totota with a caretaker who did not have the time to properly look after the kids, and they were always taking to the farm after school and this affected their studies after school.

We are thankful that our supporters listen to us to provide the support for us to remove these kids to Gbarnga where we were able to employ a cook, wash Tina clothes, and tuitoral who teach them after school. We are so grateful that Junior, Jonah and Tina are happy with their new home in Ghanrga. When we took the kids to Gbarnga we realized that they had new clothing, Tina had only dresses, Junior one short and his school uniform and Jonah had one jean trousers two shorts and two T-shirts along with his old school uniform. With the support from these special donors, we were able to buy them enough clothing and footwears. Junior and his siblings are happy with their new school, we enrolled them in the St. Martin Catholic High in Gbarnga and it is one of the best schools in the county.

Tina's teacher told me that she is one of the best students in his class and we are so proud of her ability to learn faster.

We are happy that this special donor has committed to take care of their total yearly need and our organization is very much committed to make sure that these kids get the right support needed.

We want to thank everyone who has built love and wants to join us in supporting these kids, we want to encourage you to continue your support, these kids do not have father and mother, they now look to you and I for their future. One of the areas we really need support is their medical and food is our biggest concern since food prices continue to increase on the market.

Tina graduate from KG

It's has been eight years now since Tina's parents died from Ebola in Suakoko Bong County at the ETU. We are thankful that we have had the opportunity to give Tina and her siblings hope through the support and sponsorship GlobalGiving and Dough.

It has been difficult for these kids since the death of their parents and Christina who read about them in the New York Time contacted me and started supporting them and took her own life. When this happened the kids lost hope but I was able to get back to Christina’s husband and he has promised to stand up with us to continue the support of these kids educational goals.

Tina finally graduated from the Kindergarten last Sunday in the Totota, Bong County from the Lutheran High School. Educating Tina and her Siblings has been a long journey and interesting. We are proud to see that they are claiming their educational ladler gradually, especially Junior who told the New York Times Journalist that he wanted to go to school and become a medical doctor. Junior believed that his parents died from Ebola because Liberia has a limited number of doctors.

The kids were five, and a snake bit one of them after she went in the bush in search of wide fruit, and she died, the oldest one of them ran away from the village at the age of 14 and we have tried to seek information about her but no result. We have decided to remove these kids from the Village to move them to Monrovia or Gbarnga where we will be able to interact with them and give them our support.

We need your support to help us find an apartment, food, healthcare, clothing and salary someone an elderly person female who will do their cooking and cleaning up.

We are grateful to our donors, friends, supporters and the GlobalGiving team for the love and support toward these kids and thank you for the hard work you are doing in the lives of these orphans’ kids in Liberia.
School is reopening in September and we will need your support to enable us to get the educational needs for these.

We are recognizing your hard work and we believe that together we can achieve much in preparing the future of these kids.
