Summary

Poverty is a major barrier to education in Liberia. The 2021 GEMR found that Liberia had a net enrollment rate of 44% for primary school children. This means that 56% of primary-age children in Liberia are not attending school. This project is working to change that. By providing scholarships, uniforms, school supplies, school books, nutritious school lunches, school furniture, teacher support, and repairing classrooms, this project is helping kids go to school and enhance their education.

Challenge

Liberia's education system has been severely affected by recent crises, including war, the Ebola epidemic, and poverty. As a result, many classrooms are inadequate, and resources are insufficient. Many families cannot afford to send their children to school, especially if they have to pay for school fees, uniforms, and other supplies. Without a good education, Liberian children will not have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and will be more likely to live in poverty and crime.

Solution

This project will make a difference in Liberia by supporting education. We will provide necessary infrastructure and resources such as school furniture, scholarships, books, school supplies, uniforms, building repairs, new classrooms, and teacher salary supplements. This ensures that children can stay in school and learn effectively.
