Kids are Making Progress, Thanks to Your Support

Dear project supporters

Thanks to your support, we raised $188.52 since the last report. These funds have helped cover the running costs of the school and staff salaries.

Over the past semester, the younger kids have been learning how to read, spell and write. They are making progress despite the unfavorable learning environment - with many of them sitting on the floor.  This is the primary challenge that the school is currently facing - inadequate chairs.

There are seven classrooms in the school and we are currently using four classrooms. Around 250 kids dropped out of school over the past year because of family financial difficulties. Current attendance is around 100 kids.

Many of the kids who dropped out are now working on family farms with their parents. The community generally likes education but the families are not able to cover the related school costs.

Ideally, we would love to provide scholarship support to 50 or more kids by the end of the year.  Your donation of $100 or more will help us get to this goal. A great time to make a donation is Wednesday, July 12 where donations will be matched at 50%, from 9:00 am EDT, with $110,000 in matching funds available.

Thanks for helping us raise the next generation of leaders in Liberia.  We deeply appreciate your on-going support!

With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa team
