Things at Love Story are busy winding down as we head towards the end of the year. In December we enjoy a summer holiday over Christmas and New Years.
To end off the year, we will be handing out 500 buckets filled with non-perishable food items, which will be given to families in need in some of the areas that we serve. These families have been identified by the community leaders as families desperate for food, and we so grateful that we will be able to bless them with these buckets. After using the food they will be able to keep these buckets to use in their households, and we love being able to give a practical food hamper like this every year.
Our Feeding project that we run throughout the year has reached 2,5 million meals since the beginning of the Covid Lockdown last year. We are so blessed to be able to feed thousands of hungry people every month through the community kitchens that we support. For most of the people receiving food from these kitchens, it is their only meal of the day, and majority of those receiving food are children.
Our Love Sandwiches project is also going strong, as we are able to hand out hundreds of sandwiches each week to creches in these starving communities. We have been able to distribute 48 000 sandwiches so far this year.
