2023: The End of a Happy Year

2023 year comes to an end, and it's not just the conclusion of a cycle; it's about rejoicing in the achievement of set goals. Another year dedicated to providing nutrition and love to the most vulnerable children in La Vega, Caracas, right in their own schools.

It may sound simple, but from 2017 to date, it has been six continuous years in the mission of providing nutritious and balanced meals to children. This task involves the invaluable contribution of each donation, coupled with the commendable work of directors, teachers, and cooks, as well as the commitment of mothers, fathers, and guardians of each little one. A special mention goes to the commendable work of volunteers and allies who contribute their "grain of salt" to make it happen.

Achieving the year's closure with the joy that pleases children the most has an added value – a Venezuelan Christmas meal, often costly for many who may not have it at home: hallacas (a type of cornmeal pie filled with a stew made with various meats, pork, and chicken in small pieces, and other ingredients, wrapped in plantain or banana leaves, especially made for Christmas), ham bread (bread filled with ham, raisins, and green olives, usually stuffed with red pepper or paprika), Christmas salad (mainly made with chicken, carrots, potatoes, peas, and mayonnaise). After enjoying the inflatable mattress, popcorn, and cotton candy, it has been a gift every year-end, thanks first and foremost to God, and of course, to those who make donations to continue achieving this beautiful mission.

Beyond the food itself, the emotion of being able to gather families around the table is the main objective of any celebration. In this case, bringing together in one celebration: children, teachers, directors, cooks, and volunteers has an incalculable value for the nutritional program.

Because happiness is also in sharing, not only within the family but also among classmates and teachers, and enjoying those rich flavors and traditions that make us who we are. It is part of the education that shapes us, and it is what we have been providing from this mission that we undertook in 2017: despite the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, these children continue to learn and develop healthily and happily, in constant interaction with their peers in an environment conducive to learning and within their customs and traditions.

God bless all this work and those who help make it possible. May everyone have a Merry Christmas, and may the year 2024 allow us to continue in this beautiful mission of nourishing, educating, and loving the little ones who need us the most.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Gracias! Gracias! Gracias!
