The program begins its 3rd quarter at the Canaima School and Yetzary, Hillary's mother, tells us her story.

Yetzary is the mother of Hillary, a student in the III Group of Early Education at Canaima School. She's 6 years old, residing in the Los Encantos neighborhood, high up in La Vega, Caracas, alongside her parents and her 11-year-old older sister.

Yetzary beams with contentment and gratitude since Hillary began receiving meals provided by the program. She remarks that it's not only a significant financial aid but also facilitates Hillary's punctual attendance at school. Hillary frequently attends the institution, embodying a cheerful, attentive, participative, and creative demeanor. She works independently and adapts well to the school environment.

Yetzary shares that Hillary expresses joy over the meals she consumes during breakfast and lunch, finding them delicious and nutritious. She mentions Hillary is starting to eat foods she previously avoided, such as eggs, tomatoes, and legumes. It's noteworthy that she particularly enjoys vegetables in salads, consumes meat in small portions, savors soups and vegetable cream, and delights in processed meats like bologna and sausages. Additionally, she relishes fruits during snack times.

Canaima School, situated in the upper part of La Vega, Caracas, is one of the beneficiary institutions that joined the "Una Arepa Para Mi País" Program in January of this year, now entering in its second quarter. Through the program, balanced nutrition is provided to preschool and first-grade children in this institution, along with three other schools, all with the aim of keeping children safe from the perils of malnutrition and school dropout.

We continue to believe that it's impossible to envision quality education without ensuring children are well-fed. As Isabel, the founder of Canaima School and the primary inspiration behind this program, used to say: "A full belly, a happy heart... and an open mind."

------------------

Y cerebro abierto.
