Full tummies and full minds!
By Shayle Havemann | Project leader

Introduction
Countless schools in remote regions sit high above their water source, therefore, there is no water in the taps and no way of flushing a toilet. For several days a month, young girls who already face a cultural battle to enroll in school, are forced to stay home while male peers continue to attend. This directly contributes to gender inequality and keeps girls at lower levels of education
Report
Our objectives are simple: to continue to assist the local community in every way we can - particularly with the feeding of primary school children, and providing resources to maximise their education and eventually their employment opportunities. This will help them concentrate and focus on their studies while they are at school and will also provide them with some of the nutrients that they are lacking. It costs the project $15 to feed 40 children lunch per day. We would love to continue to growing our impact on this project.

Introduction
Despite a change of leadership, nothing has changed for the ordinary citizen of Zimbabwe. Prices keep escalating and unemployment is around 99%. This project aims to assist the 250-day scholars at the local Primary School with daily nutritious lunch, essential stationery, exercise and textbooks, by assisting with these essential resources we hope to alleviate external struggles so that the children can focus on their education and continue further.
Report
A donation of $15 will provide a lunch pack to 40 children. The project supports local primary schools in rural Zimbabwe. All our day scholars receive a lunch funded by you, this is most of the time, the only meal they receive in a day.

We are Open and Stocking the Shelves

Thank You Letter
Dear Friends and Family,
The headteacher of our local rural school retired this year and unfortunately we couldn't do a big send off due to the school has been forced closed under government COVID-19 regulations. In September we got the green light to re-open the school and welcomed our new Headteacher, who was taken back by the support of our project. After we got the news schools can re-open we suspended our food parcel drive and worked with the new head to get the shopping delivered to the school and our program restarted feeding the students at the school on the 20th September.
It's good to be back and the new head forwarded us letter (attached) from the students and added a personal thank you as below that she wanted us to pass on to you, our donors....
"On behalf of our Primary School learners, staff and parents, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for the food provisions. The aid you have given to our learners has assisted very much in boosting our school enrollment. Learners are now able to stay for afternoon lessons as they will have had something for the day.
Above all, this will facilitate a good pass rate. Your generosity has gone a great stride in alleviating the challenges faced by the community. Most parents are not employed, and the employed are not gainfully so.
Attached are the letters from the learners themselves.
We wish you all the best in your endeavours
Yours Faithfully
(Headteacher) "
We are excited to be back in the school and our cooks are busy in the Kitchen, it is easier for us to ensure all children are fed daily at the school rather than the home food parcels we funded during lockdown. Our funds are getting low but we have managed to purchase enough food for September, October and November and so now we kick off our fundraising for December and next year. Every donation made is really making a difference and we thank you for being apart of this amazing project! We have also included a link to a video of the children getting their food on the first day back.
Thank you,
Tyrone and the Zimbabwe Team
