We bring to you an update on our quarterly report for fighting for gender base violence in southeast Nigeria.
In our last report we x-rays the challenges women and girls face and which have continued to traumatize Gender-based violence is a human rights violation. Freedom from violence is a fundamental human right, and gender-based violence undermines a person's sense of self-worth and self-esteem. It affects not only physical health but also mental health and may lead to self-harm, isolation, depression and suicidal attempts.
Women and girls may experience severe physical injuries, unwanted pregnancies and exposure to HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the limited ability to complete daily tasks, and suicidal thoughts are also common.
We started an advocacy in fighting for the rights of women in society. Our advocacy centred on Fight for gender Justice and reproductive rights of women in Nigeria. We are seeing positive changes but the challenges we are facing hinges on finance to continue our advocacy.
Your generosity means everything to us and to the community we serve.
We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to donating, and we are so grateful that you chose to donate to our cause. We promise to be responsible stewards of both your donation and your trust.
None of our success would be possible without generous donors like you. Thank you again for your commitment and kindness.
Thank you for your support and for your belief in doing good. We simply couldn’t do what we do without amazing people like you.
Nevertheless, A lot of women and girls are faced with hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion as well as the lack of participation in decision-making.
Our objective is to empower them and give support to go on with their everyday lives and be more responsible in the society; eventually helping them aspire to a brighter future.
Once again, thank you for your generous donation that supported these efforts. As the crisis rages on, insecurity, uncertainty, and humanitarian needs abound. We are committed to providing humanitarian and long-term support to children in rural communities and we will keep you informed about how your donation is impacting the lives of people who are suffering because of this shortage.
We therefore urge you to share and recommend our project with your network of family and friends to impact the lives of women and girls. Once again, we are exceedingly grateful.
With Kindest regards,
Samonyemaechi humanitarian
