In April, Mission Kharkiv continued its vital mission of delivering essential cancer medications to patients in need — people living through war while facing life-threatening diagnoses.
Throughout the month, our team supported 199 cancer patients, distributing a total of 611 units of life-saving oncology medications.
Thanks to our partnerships with trusted medical institutions, we are able to provide safe, reliable access to life-saving treatment for those who need it most — despite all the challenges.
Distributions take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Institute of Medical Radiology and Oncology in Kharkiv, and every Monday and Thursday at the Lviv Oncology Treatment and Diagnostic Center.
Currently, we have only two approved storage facilities for temperature-sensitive medications: our Cold Bunker in Kharkiv and the warehouse of our partner, the Christian Medical Association, in Lviv.
Because of these limitations, oncology medicines requiring special storage conditions can only be distributed at these designated points.
Your continued support helps ensure that cancer is not a death sentence — even in wartime. Every dose delivered is a step toward hope, dignity, and survival.
Today we'll tell story about Natalia, a woman diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in early 2023. Amidst the collapse of Ukraine’s medical infrastructure and limited access to life-saving drugs, she found hope through Mission Kharkiv and your support.
“You gave me a chance to live”
In early 2023, Natalia received a diagnosis that changed her life: stage II breast cancer. “It was like thunder on a clear day,” she recalls. “You never think this will happen to you—until it does.”
Her oncologist prescribed trastuzumab, a critical but expensive medication. “The price was terrifying. I had no idea how I could afford it. It felt like a death sentence.”
At the Kharkiv Radiological Center, Natalia learned about Mission Kharkiv.
“Thanks to Mission Kharkiv, I’ve been receiving my medication since June 2023. Every dose is free. If not for this project, I would not be able to continue treatment. I simply couldn’t survive.”
Natalia will continue her treatment through June 2025. Her journey is ongoing, but now, she walks it with confidence and hope.
Her journey reflects both the immense challenges and the transformative impact of international humanitarian support. Through her voice, we aim to shed light on thousands more patients facing similar struggles — and to show what donor support makes possible. Your support.
Thank you for being part of this life-saving effort.
