Throughout October, Mission Kharkiv continued providing free oncology medicines to patients and healthcare facilities across Ukraine, helping people continue their treatment despite the challenges of the war.
During the month, 2,492 units of oncology medicines were distributed: 1,191 to healthcare facilities and 1,301 directly to patients. In total, the programme recorded 428 distributions, supporting 265 women and 163 men.
Kharkiv accounted for 222 distributions, followed by Lviv with 152 and Dnipro with 42. Another 12 distributions were made through Nova Poshta and other delivery channels, helping us reach patients beyond the cities where our team operates directly.
October was especially meaningful for us as it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our work through GlobalGiving this month. Together, you helped us raise over $2,300 — a significant contribution that helps us keep this programme running and continue supporting cancer patients across Ukraine.
Two members of our team, Anzhela Hrytsiuk and Emil Alibeili, also visited England in October, where they took part in a fundraising coffee morning hosted by Moseley for Ukraine, with the support of Macmillan Cancer Support. The event brought people together to support cancer patients in Ukraine and raised an additional £300 for our work.
Your donations help make these deliveries possible. They support our team and pharmacists, cover logistics and transportation costs, help maintain the cold chain, and keep our vehicles running so that medicines can safely reach patients and healthcare facilities across Ukraine. This support is essential to keeping the programme operational and ensuring that patients continue receiving the treatment they need.
