Help for the wounded in Ukraine during the war

Once again we would like to thank you for your care and support!

Every day our country's people are affected by ongoing hostilities. Some lose their homes, others lose their families. Each of us deserves to be healthy, so we should not forget about the needs of medical institutions that are fighting for people's lives every day. 

It is important to understand that the daily calls of doctors have been supplemented by people suffering from russia's terrorist actions. There are victims every day.
We help medical institutions that receive patients for treatment after shelling.

Currently, more than 130 hospitals from all over Ukraine are under the care of the "Your Support" Foundation.
Together with you, we have helped medical institutions from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Odesa and Dnipro regions.
These institutions also accept wounded and injured from other frontline cities/regions for treatment.

The war leaves both physical and psychological traces. However, thanks to caring people and the great professionalism of our doctors, we can help the victims to overcome these challenges.

Every day, doctors get patients with mine and explosive injuries, rocket and gunshot wounds and all other injuries that are typical of war.

This quarter, medical institutions received medicines and medical devices used to treat victims of the war.

Every donation you make saves lives. Thanks to you, we can continue to help medical institutions that are fighting for the lives of not only wounded but also seriously ill patients.

Since February 24, 2022, as part of "Help Ukraine! Stop the War" project, the CF "Your Support" has been providing assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war. These are more than 130 medical institutions in Ukraine, 59 orphanages and more than 4,250 internally displaced persons who have received temporary housing and assistance in our shelter in Lviv.

The war is going on and people are trying to escape not only from shelling on the territory of Ukraine, but also from the "liberators" from the territories occupied by the russian troops. This situation is the hardest for children, because in addition to the constant horror of war, they also suffer from terrible diseases.

Where there are diseases, there are doctors who are ready to fight them. These are the professionals who work at the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Hospital, which has been operating as a regular 430-bed hospital since the first days of the full-scale war. There are 12 inpatient and 2 intensive care units which treat children from 0 to 18 years old. Every year, 15,000 children are admitted to the hospital's inpatient departments. In addition to that, the oncohematology department started operating in January 2023, where 10 children are currently being cared for.

After de-occupation of the Kherson Region, children from this area who need help are admitted to Mykolaiv hospital. These children are different, their situations are different, but the need is the same - to give all patients the opportunity to live a full and healthy life despite the difficulties and the situation around them. That is why we want to tell you some stories that inspire us and give us the strength to keep working.

Being under occupation, children were unable to undergo a qualified examination in a timely manner, so starting from November 2022, parents with children diagnosed with severe forms of oncology began to visit the hospital. One of these patients was operated on in an emergency during the shelling of Mykolaiv because the situation was critical, and the child spent several weeks in intensive care under a close supervision of doctors.

Another girl only eighteen months old was diagnosed with acute leukemia. To have a chance for life, she underwent a course of polychemotherapy and was connected to a round-the-clock monitoring device for 33 days which was keeping track of the child's condition.

War leaves traces which are sometimes invisible... This is how the child sustained a mine-blast injury after stepping on this dangerous object after de-occupation of the Kherson region. The doctors meticulously and very carefully restored every vessel, nerve and bone piece by piece to save as much of the girl's leg as possible. The operation was long and extremely complicated, and afterwards the child was in intensive care for more than a week connected to special equipment.

Another story - when under fire prematurely born babies were brought from Kherson to Mykolaiv hospital, where they stayed in intensive care until they gained enough weight and could breathe on their own. Currently, the hospital can accommodate 9 of such babies. Their condition must be constantly monitored so that we can respond in time in case of a crisis.

All these children needed constant supervision and monitoring using special equipment that we purchased through your support - these are 3 patient monitors of the expert class of the Japanese manufacturer.

The patient’s monitor is a second-by-second monitoring of the condition of young patients, which allows doctors to instantly respond to any changes and crises in children in the intensive care unit and those undergoing polychemotherapy. Successful treatment is important, but rehabilitation and postoperative care are of high significance as well. After all, timely response and assistance provided gives these kids the opportunity to live.

Every small and large donation made by you allows us to fulfill our primary task of providing the frontline hospitals in Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and other cities with everything they need. Such hospitals treat not only wounded children and adults, but also seriously ill patients.
