Thank you for helping people affected by the war

By Tetiana Kyryliuk | Project manager

Dear friends,

We are grateful for your continued support for the Ukrainian people who have been affected by the war. And our Foundation "Your Support" can continue its assistance to medical facilities from all over Ukraine providing them with medicines, medical devices, modern and professional equipment, hygiene products and much more.

In November-December 2023, your generosity helped our Foundation to support 10 medical facilities in the following regions:

- Dnipro region
- Kyiv region
- Zaporizhzhia region
- Lviv region.

Every day, the team of the Foundation “Your Support” works to provide the facilities with everything they need in due time. As a result, doctors do not experience a shortage of medicines, medical devices, and equipment, and patients receive quality care promptly.

Thanks to this well-coordinated work between philanthropists, the Foundation and doctors, we were able to save another life. A 14-year-old boy was injured by a mine blast when an unknown munition exploded in his yard. With numerous burns on his skin and injuries to his lower limbs, he was urgently taken to a hospital in Dnipro region which is under the care of the Foundation “Your Support”.

Doctors assessed the child's general condition as critical, with minimal chances of survival. Deep burns covered almost half of the child's body. He also had severe shrapnel wounds to his limbs with open bone fractures. Specialists at the Dnipro Hospital managed to save his life. However, it was the beginning of a difficult road to recovery. The child has been in intensive care for four months. During this time, he has undergone more than 40 surgical procedures and is undergoing daily rehabilitation. In addition, he needs constant support from a child psychologist.

Patients with severe combined traumas always require a lot of human and material resources. It was only thanks to the joint efforts of doctors and philanthropists that the life of a 14-year-old boy was saved and he was finally able to enter his rehabilitation stage. The war in Ukraine is a large-scale genocide against a nation of millions of people who simply want to live in peace on their own land. Unfortunately, there are many similar stories. We must continue to make every effort to save one more life every day.

Since February 24, 2022, as part of the "Help Ukraine! Stop War" project, the Charitable Foundation "Your Support" has been providing assistance to Ukrainian people affected by the war. This includes more than 130 medical institutions in Ukraine, 59 orphanages and more than 4,900 internally displaced people who have received temporary housing and support at our Shelter in Lviv.
