May I take this opportunity to thank you all for the good work that you have done. In July we visited two schools in our community. These schools are day secondary schools and they are in the villages. Most of the students admitted to these schools are from vulnerable families and lack school fees to join boarding schools. Some of the students did very well in their national examinations, and they received letters of admission from very good boarding secondary schools, but due to their family backgrounds, they couldn't afford the school fees in those schools and opted to join day secondary schools that are close to their homes where they can walk to and from the school every day.
We had the opportunity to talk to the girls, took them through menstrual health education, and thereafter we introduced to them our reusable pads. We showed them item by item and we were shocked, when we showed them the underwear, they clapped, jumped and they were very happy, others raised their hands up and thanked God. When we asked the teachers, they told us that they have a big problem because some of the girls have no underwear. What they have can not hold a pad, this was sad.
The good news is that you have stepped in, see what you have done! You have not only given them a pad but you have clothed them. This was the most exciting time outside the office. I was so touched and blessed to see the happiness in the eyes of these girls. We gave out 300 kits altogether. Our target is to reach out to 3000 girls. Help us by sharing the good work you are doing.
Thank you so much for what you are doing, touching lives in a special way.
