RESTORING DIGNITY FOR GIRLS

We are proud to report satisfaction and success from our last distribution of reusable pads to more than 300 students in 3 day secondary school. The schools are located in the interior villages, poor infrustructure but the girls are willing to go to school.  They have dreams despite their challenges they are facing day after day. Most of the children were admitted in boarding schools but theie parents.guardians couldnt afford, they opted to join village day schools where they can walk to school and are less expensive. 

These students are in these schools but they are always on the road back home for school fees and what makes hard is that they are also staying at home because they cant afford pads.  one of the girls said that, " it is hard to ask face your parents and ask for pads when you are already at home because you have not paid school fees". Another one said, "it is so embarrasing to ask for pads when you went to bed hungry because parents didnt have money to buy food"   All these words were heartbreaking but the good news is that, when we visited the students after one year since they received their reusable pads, the story was totally different.  They only stayed home due to lack of school fees but after payment they were in school throughout because they had no problem with pads. They are comfortable and these pads are so precious in their lives while at school.

We are looking forward to distributing 1500 pads next year to new students who will be joining high school.  We are now sewing new pads and we have 200 pads ready for distributiong.  We have 1300 left and it is in this regard that we are reporting to you and at the same time requesting you to support this program to enable more girls to stay in schol.
