Supporting elite Bahamian junior golfers through Harris Golf Academy has long been a need in The Bahamas. For far too long, access to world-class golf training has been reserved for families with significant financial means, creating an uneven playing field and limiting the dreams of talented young athletes. Harris Golf Academy was founded to change that narrative—by opening doors, leveling the field, and allowing gifted Bahamian youth to develop in a high-performance environment regardless of financial background. In just a short time, the academy has already proven that this model works.
The impact has been undeniable. Through strategic development, access to consistent training, and holistic support, our students are now achieving what was once out of reach. Three of our players have secured full collegiate golf scholarships for Fall 2025, demonstrating both their talent and readiness for the next level. One student has been accepted into another elite international golf academy, while another has been awarded a prestigious foundation scholarship that will support her through the final year of high school and into college, complete with clinics, mentorship, and collegiate golf funding.
Our players are also making waves on the national stage. Six Harris Golf Academy students have earned places on the 2025 Bahamas National Junior Golf Team and will represent the country in two major events this year. Among them are the newly crowned national champions in both the Boys and Girls 15U divisions—an incredible milestone for our program. These successes reflect not only the talent of our players but also the effectiveness of a system built to nurture, guide, and challenge them.
Perhaps most inspiring is the hope we’ve ignited in the younger generation. HGA has become a symbol of what’s possible. It tells every child in The Bahamas that they don’t have to come from privilege to become an elite golfer. With the right support, it’s within reach. We are grateful to all who have joined us in this mission, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to the Sean Connery Foundation for their belief in us. Their support has been instrumental as we continue to build a sustainable, inclusive, and impactful program. We look forward to introducing our new class of academy players in Fall 2025—with more stories of hope and triumph to come.
