Our project is located in the villages of Arena Blanca and Buenos Aires Sur, Honduras, where extreme poverty is part of the normality of the families. We currently are serving 314 children in education, food, health and family care programs. The demand is much higher and we have a waiting list to join the Foundation.
As you know, our main pillar is education, but we also try to improve the quality of life of families through different ways, so we are involving the community in the cultivation of a vegetable garden…. which is growing with the help of all of us! The garden helps us to learn about food, ecology and to create good food habits preventing illnesses.
During the last months we had many and variated activities.We held a meeting of Montessori guides in Honduras. It was a good first step to start this kind of meetings and activities. It also served to keep on with the continuous training of our educational team.
We also enjoyed some celebrations: a meeting of former members of the program which was very exciting, class graduations and birthdays of all of our children and young people. Now we are preparing for Christmas.
