As many begin to enter the fun-filled months of summer, I thought I'd share this happy photo of Sahr G, age 14. Sahr came to us in 2011, when he was just two years old (pictured below), and has always been such a cheerful and helpful child. He’s doing very well in school, and, as you can see, he’s polishing his basketball skills! We’re so proud of his accomplishments and the young man he is becoming!
This past month the children were visited by Bjorn Greene (pictured below), a Sierra Leonean living in Freetown. Bjorn does a lot of humanitarian work, and is a generous supporter of AAO. He brought many toys, bicycles, and balls for the children, with help from the Kindness Offensive and Rise and Renew donations. He has also donated the WiFi for the Children’s Center for the past three years. We are SO grateful for his amazing support! And, as you can see, the kids clearly love Bjorn!
This month has definitely been full of blessings, but also some serious concerns. We are still behind on our general budget, and have seen donations drop to a very low level this year. If you're able, please help us regain our footing on that front. We would also welcome help in raising the funds for our college kids' school fees. Please share our needs and our work with any and all who might have a heart for these kids and their futures.
