Kids excited about a new school
Full funding for six classrooms was reached in May, thanks to donations through GlobalGiving as well as other fundraising events. The funds were wired and construction began. Thanks to all who donated to give kids in Trumba a new school in which to learn – they are excited! You can track the progress of the school on our website: www.riseinternational.org/school/trumba/
Our next project will be an 8-classroom school in Alto Esperanca in the Benguela Province, where there are 6000 children out of school. We hope you will join us providing a school for them. Together we can and are making a difference!

Making progress - more kids to help

We are grateful for those who have partnered with us to help fund a classroom at Trumba. Our goal is $25,000, the cost to build one classroom to accommodate 100 students in each of two sessions. Lynn Cole, RISE's Executive Director, just returned from a trip to Angola. On one of her trips to visit another RISE school, she passed through Trumba and was greeted by the village administrator.
The government in the Bie Province would still like to see a school built at Trumba and is committed to assist in that process. The drop in oil prices has hit Angola hard as this is their major revenue source, and has caused the government to suspend many social projects. We are hopeful that funding will come through soon.
We have raised funds through our annual benefit and private donations getting us closer to full funding. Will you help us get this school built for the kids at Trumba? GlobalGiving makes it easy to give and spread the word about our project. If you live in the US, you can even donate by mobile phone! There is a Bonus Day coming up - April 14, in which donations will be matched at 50% up to $1000 per donor. This is a great way to multiply your gift and increase your impact!

School at Trumba - Update

Thank you for your generosity and your desire to give kids at Trumba a school in which to learn. Your gift will have a tremendous impact in their lives.
They are in need of an 8-classroom school. The local government has commited to partner with us on the project. With funds already raised in 2014, we need just over $50,000 more to build the school at Trumba. Various fundraising activities are planned for 2015 with the hopes that we can get the school started within the next couple of months.
Please join us in spreading the word. We want to give these kids at Trumba a hope for their future. Thanks again for your participation.
