Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your support for children undergoing treatment in wartime Ukraine!
Do you know what Ukrainians, especially parents, are very afraid of? They fear that this war may become frozen without a positive resolution for Ukraine. They worry that war criminals from Russia will not be held accountable for their actions, and that Russia could amass new weapons and forces to launch another attack in an attempt to "resolve the Ukrainian question," as they call it. For many parents who are currently fighting for Ukraine’s freedom, this prospect means that their children might also have to go to war. It’s the greatest fear in their lives.
This is the story of Artur, the 13-year-old boy you see in the picture. He comes from a military family. Currently, Artur’s father serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending our country against the invaders, while his older sister is a border guard stationed in the Kharkiv Oblast, situated on the border with Russia, actively participating in the defense of our nation. Artur has been staying at home with his mom, missing his family members greatly and, at the same time, feeling helpless.
One day, he tried to practice with a pistol using rubber bullets, just as he had seen his dad do, and unfortunately, he was hit in the head by a ricochet. Thankfully, Artur received timely medical attention and then underwent treatment in Lviv. However, for his parents, those were the most terrifying days of their lives. They pray that they will never have to fear losing their son again. Artur’s family dream is to live together in a liberated, peaceful, and safe Ukraine.
Thank you for your generous contributions that provide treatment and support to children like Artur. Thank you for standing with Ukraine!
