GUSTUKAS
Gusto's mother Ugne shares news from Gusto's forty-third eye check-up visit in Switzerland:
"This time, the whole trip and visit was spiced with life. The journey from leaving home to entering the accommodation in Lausanne, Switzerland took longer than we thought. Instead of the usual 12-14 hours, it lasted until 21:00. At night, while driving to the airport, the phone rang - we received a warning that due to a security risk, the flight that was supposed to take place in the morning was unfortunately canceled. Upon arrival at Vilnius Airport, we had to wait almost 8 hours until the situation stabilized due to weather balloons, which caused disruptions to the operation of Vilnius Airport, and the airline found alternative connecting flights so that we could reach our destination as quickly as possible. The situation that had developed and the information flashing on the airport's display board about the constantly canceled flights sowed simmering anxiety and at the same time developed patience, but fortunately, we were not late for the visit to the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital.
The results of Gusto's eye examination are encouraging - no new tumor foci were detected, no therapeutic procedures were applied. Recovery from anesthesia was not smooth, he suffered from strong side effects, but opioid analgesics and the professional care of doctors helped to control the situation.
During the next visit, an eye examination without anesthesia is planned, in order to avoid as little negative health effects as possible from anesthesia and medications. We all have our own "breaking" points in our experiences. Perhaps Gusto's body has reached this point (because this is already the 51st anesthesia in his life). Over time, it becomes increasingly difficult to avoid side effects of anesthesia.
We thank all of YOU for the help we have received, the opportunity to continue to move purposefully towards our goal. We wish that the gusts of autumn wind blow away unnecessary thoughts, that the breathing silence of autumn and the flow of colorful autumn images give peace and serenity, and that thoughts and body go in the same direction.
