Help Lithuanian Kids in their Battle with Cancer

This spring, March-April-May, the Mother's Unity Foundation provided - $ 79 005.31 in support of children and their families for the treatment of oncological diseases in Lithuania. These funds were used to purchase non-reimbursed medicines, to purchase essential nursing products, and to celebrate children's birthdays, as well as their greatest dreams to come true. We also would like to thank for donors of GlobalGiving who have contributed $ 328.

In Lithuania $ 50 223.47 support has been granted for the treatment of a young boy from Ukraine.

For children after chemotherapy, the need for nursing products increase, i.e. nappies, wet napkins, cleansers and creams for sensitive skin. During three months we distributed these nursing products: 80 pcs of diapers, 50 pcs of wet napkins, 30 pcs of creams and cleansers. 

During the treatment period, families are facing financial difficulties. We finance fuel for families who come to the hospital from all Lithuania for several times a month. During these months we have offset fuel for $ 3 956. 

We have organized festivals for children in Vilnius’ clinic and in Kaunas’ clinic. Such as spectacular nitrogen shows, smart mirrors, VR glasses, pizza production, and balloon parties. 

We also give parents a little rest and have donated tickets to the theater, trips to the sea with the whole family. According to one happy mother, “It's good when after long and tedious days at the hospital, we can escape for a few hours with our husbands and forget all the problems by watching performances”.

Another happy mother, who stayed at the sea for all weekend said: “Thank you for the opportunity to go with the whole family to the sea. We were at the Jazz Festival, visited the Maritime Museum, enjoyed the dolphin show, and the time went by inadvertently, and the most important thing was that we could forget about Viltyte's disease for a short time. Sincerely thank you”.

We also made dreams come true for 11 children. These dreams were such incredible, i. e. we have organized real Christmas with presents and Santa Claus.

We also congratulated 30 children with birthdays by giving them birthday presents and a small surprises. One of the sick girl, who celebrated her 16^th birthday last month told: “Thanks for Mother’s Unity for capability to celebrate the birthday very special, even staying in the hospital with a severe diagnosis
