As the little hands wrap around her neck, the heart seems to melt from Emilija affection. She is so extraordinary, joyful, sweet, though she has been undergoing some serious treatment for a rare malignancy for some time.
Yesterday, Emilija and her mother were still at Lausanne Children's Hospital, where Emilija is being treated for retinoblastoma (an eye malignancy). Before the girl woke up after the anesthesia, her mother rushed to write us a message and say hello.
We always look forward to the news for every child returning from a children's hospital in Lausanne. We are happy with each of their successful steps. Today we can be delighted with Emilija mother's message:
"Hello, Egle. I was delighted that Professor Munier had already talked about treatment and care in Lithuania. If all goes well, if the tumor continues to be inactive, June will be the last visit to Switzerland.
And to this day, after a visit and anesthesia, again, great, no treatment. The instructions are the same as before: glueing our eyes, training and waiting for another visit after 6 weeks.
We're still in Lausanne, recently brought back by Emilija from the operating room, still asleep. But I wanted to write to you as soon as possible and be happy. Tomorrow I will be at home.
Thank you for your help and support, this past path has been easier for us. "
We sincerely thank everyone, good-hearted people, for giving Emilia a chance to recover.
For children after chemotherapy, the need for nursing products increase, i.e. nappies, wet napkins, cleansers and creams for sensitive skin. During three months we distributed these nursing products: 1000 pcs of diapers, 150 pcs of wet napkins, 150 pcs of creams and cleansers.
During the treatment period, families are facing financial difficulties. We finance fuel for families who come to the hospital from all Lithuania for several times a month. During these months we have offset fuel for $ 15 452.
