                                                                      Our Gustukas

I believe that many of us have not experienced as much as in our short - two years of life - our Gustas. I am amazed at the number of flights on a small plane alone, a boy over 60 (counting back and forth), not every important meeting with doctors and not very pleasant cancer treatment procedures.
The 31st journey and undying faith, or maybe just the moments of joy experienced, that at least 1 millimeter has moved towards victory...
Gust's mother Ugne's thoughts after returning from her 31st treatment trip:
"Sometimes our happiness is not in getting something, but in not losing something.
The result of Gusto's 31st eye treatment visit is that the foci of the tumor mass inside the maculae of both eyes are inactive, and no new foci have been detected. We cherish what we have not lost, viz. i.e., it has been almost 4.5 months. to keep the tumors in Gust's eyes quiet. Recovery from anesthesia was so much easier than once, but also with side effects.
Every day I am amazed at how much children teach us. How attentive and sensitive they are, how direct they communicate, how they are able to laugh unconditionally and sincerely (even through tears), how deep their fantasy world is, how they are able to adapt to unpleasant situations (eye drops, needle pricks...), how open and natural expressing their wants/needs/emotions, sure how wide their heart is open to the world, how they enjoy every minute of their life, with what enthusiasm (often open-mouthed, wide-eyed) and wonderful admiration for new things and experiences.
As the avalanche of Gusto's questions piled up faster and faster, "what is why" I unconsciously learned car brands and delved deeper into the technical intricacies of transport, wanting the answers to be scientifically correct, and every day I unconsciously become an artist, a singer, and a theater artist, and sometimes I smile without a smile. no reason, because sometimes it's so good to feel like a kid.
Every time after a medical eye visit, we get into the routine of everyday life with acceleration, because there is a lot to do, try, explore. One sunny morning, Gust and I get into the car, and when I put it in reverse gear and leave the yard a little bit, we feel a shrill screech coming from the wheels piercing our ears. And Gust says with great concern: "Mom, what a mess!" Your brake pads are squealing, even though Uncle Master used to change brake pads with his toolbox.'
We start driving earlier and the sound fades. And Gust continues to reason: "Dad will need to let him know when he gets back from work so that he can fix it himself." And I have a smile on my face, because I have something to live for and something to strive for.
I briefly explained that "There is nothing to worry about, because sometimes even recently, strange blocks make an unpleasant sound, because it takes time for the latter to rub against the brake discs (i.e. to travel a certain distance), and if the sound does not stop, then we will again turn to uncle the craftsman, he has a toolbox ".
At the same time, the answer was enough and Gustas did not comment on the situations anymore
Let's love children, let's communicate with children, because children (as someone has said) are not small people, but great wonders of the world, changing the lives of adults, their meaning, values and giving life a unique charm.
Thank you very much for your tireless and constant support and care.
