30 year supporting Childhood Cancer in Mexico

Working together we can make the difference
In Casa de la Amistad, we are very grateful for your support and wanted to share with you some of our insights:
- In Mexico we have 5,000 new cases of childhood cancer every year.
- Childhood Cancer is the leading cause of death due to illness in children among 5 to 14 years.
- In Mexico the survival rate oscillates between 30% and 60%.
In 30 years of history, Casa de la Amistad has supported:
- More than 11,500 low in-come families with child cancer.
- Currently more than 4,100 children and youth receive follow-up care.
- Currently more than 1,300 children and youth are under active and integral treatment.
Casa de la Amistad provide free-of-cost cancer medications, lodging, warm nutritional meals, groceries, clothing and educational programs to families affected by pediatric cancer. The support we provide makes oncological treatment possible and gives children their best opportunity of conquering cancer.

Abril is a 14 years old teenage, her diagnosis is ovarian dysgerminoma. Her mother, Leticia, says that she became aware of her daughter's illness due to weight and hair loss. It was a very difficult situation for them, since they did not have enough resources to treat such an expensive disease.
Leticia tells us that receiving the support of Casa de la Amistad has been a blessing.
“The process of my daughter's illness helped me to become more aware and more human.Here we feel like it were a single family who shelter us and make no distinctions, they all treat us the same and welcome us warmly.My daughter Abril's dream is to finish a career as a physical therapist on the other side, my dream it that she ring the bell because she beat cancer.I invite all donors not to stop supporting and inviting others to join the cause.Thank you very much for all the support”- Leticia
With your donation, we help low-income children in Mexico access cancer treatment. Because parents consistently report financial burden as the main reason for treatment abandonment.
From Casa de la Amistad, we provide free-of-cost cancer medications, lodging, warm nutritional meals, groceries, clothing and educational programs to families affected by pediatric cancer.
