2015 was a successful year for the “Help more South African achieve in Maths” project. Last year the project provided 1,089 learners with a quality Maths education and helped 13 teachers to better support their learners.

We are now two weeks into the new school year in South Africa and the learners and teachers at the two schools, Mzamomhle Primary and St Mary’s Primary are already registered for the Maths Curriculum Online (MCO) programme. MCO is a cloud based learning system that delivers digital Maths CAPS exercises and assessments for grades 3 - 9. The learners and teacher at both schools are enthusiastic and ready to take advantage of the MCO programme provided by your generous donations.

We are able to support the schools for another year through this Project. This means that now 153 Mzamomhle Primary learners and 99 learners at St Mary’s Primary will have the opportunity to have to having a quality Maths education. This means in total this project will support 1,341 learners.

The teachers at Mzamomhle are ready to receive support from Green Shoots. The school is growing in numbers every year and they want to ensure that they provide learners with a good education. ”Teachers always need the tools and the encouragement to improve their practice.” says Ms Nake, grade 6 teacher at Mzamomhle.

Thank you for your donations, they are enabling learners to receive the firm foundation that will allow them to reach their dreams.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Benjamin Franklin
