The project will create a space for communication and development of 30 young people with disabilities (cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries, heart disease, epilepsy, autism, etc.) and their parents from Mykolaiv and Batumi.
There is a grieved situation for youth with disabilities in Ukraine and Georgia. After graduation and rehabilitation centers, they often face such difficulties as adult world adaptation or self-realization in the professional sphere. For this reason, a great many of them stay in social isolation. This often leads to loneliness, depressions, sometimes to refusal leaving the house and communicate with other people. Their parents are suffering from the inability to help their adult children.
This project will help 30 young people with disabilities: - to find faith in the future, while taking part in art-therapeutic psychological groups; - to develop communicational skills, to build a project of their own future and to be successfully involved in society with the help of developing and educational training courses; - to feel care and warmth of strangers after receiving Christmas presents; - to achieve a dream and travel to Georgia for participating in Summer psychological camp
This project touches on the actual problem of the self-realization of youth with disabilities in society. Starting from Mykolaiv and Batumi, the space of communication and development for 30 young people with disabilities and their parents in Georgia and Ukraine will be created. In the future, the project will be an example and prototype for realization in other regions of these countries.
