Dear members, friends and supporters of Wadadee cares e.V.,
A few weeks ago, we partnered up with “Power Pad Girls”, which was founded by Hildegard Titus with the aim to provide sexual and reproductive health workshops in schools in addition to the reusable pads the project distributes, as well as raising awareness among the public about the issue of period poverty.
Together with Power Pad Girls we visited the children’s home “Hope Village” in Katutura, Windhoek to give a comprehensive menstrual hygiene and health workshop and distribute pads. We had a group of 24 girls and 17 boys, their ages ranged from 10-18 and they had a lot of interesting questions to ask about periods and period products. We think it is so important for the boy child to learn about menstrual health and hygiene so that he can support and show sensitivity to the girls in his life.
Thanks to YOUR donation to our Female empowerment project in Namibia on GlobalGiving our project is continuously growing.
Greetings from Namibia
Miriam Faust and Lena Palm
