Summary

Football is a passion for many children in Nigerian slums, but most can't afford boots, jerseys, and balls. This project provides complete football kits and after-school training to give kids a safe space to play, build friendships, and stay away from street gangs and drug abuse. We'll also establish six community kids football clubs across six underserved areas, bringing youth together through regular tournaments, championships, and friendly matches that build character and community spirit.

Challenge

Many children living in Nigerian slums are exposed to unsafe environments with high risks of gang violence, drug abuse, theft, and other crimes. After-school hours are often unstructured, with no safe or meaningful activities. While many of these children love football, they cannot afford basic items like boots, jerseys, or footballs, and have no organized clubs or teams to join.

Solution

This project will provide football kits and regular after-school training sessions to keep children engaged in a structured and positive activity. Six community football clubs will be created across underserved areas, offering safe spaces for children to play, learn teamwork, and build healthy relationship and mentorship from trained coaches. The regular tournaments and matches will build discipline, reduce exposure to risky environments, and keep children active.

Long-Term Impact

Beyond immediate safety, this project will Reduce youth crime/violence by 40% in target areas within 2 years, improve school attendance through conditional participation, discover and nurture professional football talent, and lower teen pregnancy and drug abuse rates. Within 4 years, we aim to expand to 30 clubs across Nigeria, transforming 10,000 young lives through the power of sport and children will grow in a team environment that promotes discipline, respect, and social connection.
