Challenge

HOCAP works in rural communities in southern and southeastern Ghana. These villages each have unique concerns and needs, which HOCAP aims to address through tailored solutions that are based on community assessments and local involvement. But they also have some overarching, recurring gaps that HOCAP aims to address.

Solution

These gaps often include inadequate access to quality education for community children, intermittent access to healthcare and preventive medicine, obstacles to reaching commercial markets, and a lack of training or tools to improve farming and other economic projects.

Long-Term Impact

The project will address the education, health care, and economic needs of rural Ghanaian communities ranging in size from 200 - 1,000 people. Currently HOCAP is focused on the community of Nyitawuta, in the Akatsi North district in the southeastern part of the Volta region.
