Thank you for your continued support of Partners In Health!
PIH recently embarked on a cholera vaccination campaign with the goal of vaccinating the entire commune of Mirebalais, where nearly 100,000 people reside (and where PIH’s University Hospital is located).
66 PIH vaccination teams visited 84 schools, 59 churches, and five health centers within a week, and then went to individual homes throughout Mirebalais to ensure complete coverage.
By the end of the campaign, they had reached at least 80,000 people with the required two doses of the cholera vaccine. As a result, nearly all of Mirebalais' population is protected from cholera.
The teams also held educational sessions about good hygiene and sanitation, and provided help treating drinking water in people’s homes.
You can read more about the campaign here: https://www.pih.org/article/mission-stop-cholera-haiti
Thank you for generously making this successful program, and all of PIH’s work, possible!
