Help Put an End to Puppy Mills in Canada

Thank you for being a steadfast supporter of Humane Canada.  We’re excited to share some uplifting news about our recent Tails of Summer fundraising campaign, dedicated to the well-being of our beloved companion animals.

From August 10th to September 10th, our annual Tails of Summer fundraiser set out to raise $10,000 to support animal welfare. We are thrilled to announce that, after extending the campaign by a week, we not only reached our goal but surpassed it with a remarkable total of $13,353.00!

This annual event is more than just a fundraising initiative; it serves as a platform to raise awareness about issues facing companion animals in our country. This year we focused our campaign on Pet-Inclusive Housing. Many pet owners are forced to surrender their animals because they can't find affordable, pet-inclusive homes. This not only causes emotional distress but also contributes to overcrowded shelters. We are continuing to advocate for more inclusive housing options that keep families together, including the #1 petition in Canada on this. While housing was a key focus this year, we continued to highlight other issues affecting companion animals such as puppy mills, responsible pet ownership, shelter overcrowding, and more. Your support helps shine a light on these critical topics.

The funds raised during Tails of Summer will directly fuel our advocacy efforts and programs aimed at creating lasting change. We are committed to enhancing animal protections, pushing for robust legislation, and supporting our frontline member shelters and associates.
