Help Put an End to Puppy Mills in Canada

We know that this time of year, wildfires are ongoing throughout our country, especially during the hot summer months. With dry conditions and high temperatures, wildfires often burn out of control, and already have. That is why Humane Canada is working to keep pets and families together during times of crisis and ensuring animals are at the forefront of emergency planning.

With your generous support, Humane Canada is working to make critical progress toward a future where animals are protected in every emergency. Together, we’re laying the foundation for Canada’s first coordinated response system that includes animals as part of the plan, not an afterthought.  

The Prime Minister recently named Eleanor Olszewski Canada’s new Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience. Humane Canada will contact the Minister to advocate for stronger national coordination and ensure that animals are part of the conversation from the start, not after it’s too late. We have created a petition to ensure Canadians voices are heard on this issue and a letter writing campaign so our government knows this is top of mind for so many of us.

We know that 60% of Canadian households have companion animals. We also know that many families will not evacuate unless they know their animals are safe. That’s why this work is so urgent, and why your support means so much.
