Hi there,
National Puppy Day is this month on March 23, and while we celebrate the joy, curiosity, and unconditional love that puppies bring into our lives, we know that behind every wagging tail is a bigger story, one about responsibility, compassion, and the chance to give animals the safe, loving homes they deserve.
Across Canada, animal shelters are preparing for puppy and kitten season this spring. This is the time of year when shelters see a sharp increase in animals arriving through unexpected litters, stray intakes, and surrenders. For many organizations, it also means overcrowded shelters and stretched resources.
Through national advocacy, education, and collaboration with shelters and humane societies across the country, Humane Canada works to:
National Puppy Day is a perfect moment to remember that while puppies bring happiness, they also rely on us to protect them. With your support, Humane Canada will continue to build a future where more pets find safe, caring homes.
Thank you for your continued kindness and care for companion animals in our country, as always, we truly value your ongoing support.
