Hello Supporters and Friends!
We are delighted to bring you an update in what has so far been an eventful 2024 for Inspiring Girls. And, as always, we are so thankful to our amazing GlobalGiving supporters who help make it all possible!
In February, we took a moment to reflect on the campaign’s progress and achievements with the publishing of our 2023 Global Review. We want to see a world where girls make confident, free choices about their future, and we are proud to have taken tangible steps towards this goal through the collective efforts of our wonderful teams, volunteers and partners in the delivery of over 1,000 events with more than 32,000 girls around the world. International Women’s Day on 8 March is a major marker in the Inspiring Girls calendar. And this year, teams in our global network celebrated the occasion in a variety of ways, including workshops that empower girls to use their voice, inspiring role model sessions in marginalised communities, and insightful panel discussions with women from a variety of sectors.
And in other news from across our global network…
Our team in Thailand has been active for less than a year but they have done some incredible network building and activities in a short space of time. Most recently they collaborated on an event with the UN which included an inspiring visit for a group of students.
Meanwhile, the team in Serbia has recently finished a national research piece on girls in their communities and how they approach choosing their career. The research piece has been generously translated by the team for valuable cross-learning and insights. This type of knowledge sharing across our global network is something we are incredibly proud of.
And finally, to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Inspiring Girls Mexico celebrated with a large-scale speed networking event for girls and women scientists at a local University, while the team in Italy launched an event with the Museum of Science and Technology of Milan, where 80 students had the chance to talk with several role models from STEM fields. Both fantastic opportunities for girls with aspirations to work in STEM!
