Thank you for your ongoing support - it is very much appreciated.
The devastating earthquake in Nepal has given us the opportunity to strenthen schools in Nepal in trafficking-prone areas. We are funding the physical rebuilding of schools and this work is continuing.
At the same time we are supporting remote schools and funding students who would otherwise not be able to attend.
Last year we were able to distribute bursaries to 572 students. Bursaries include school uniform, stationery and a school bag. These are all items that students must have in order to attend school.
As a result, more children attended school regularly and stayed safe from traffickers.
Another way in which we can practically support schools is through training teachers. Last year we trained 120 teachers in child-focussed training methods.
Thanks to you we have been able to keep over 11,000 children safe in school in 2016.
With your help, we can do even more in 2017.
PS We have a Radio 4 Appeal on Sunday 9th April that will be delivered by Joanna Lumley. Please listen if you can. It will be broadcast at 7.54am and 3.27pm!
