Bringing Light to Ukraine's Children

By Tina Moira | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

As the war in Ukraine continues to bring uncertainty and hardship, families across the country are struggling to meet even their most basic needs. For many parents, every day is a challenge — to find food, warmth, and safety for their children amidst ongoing conflict and displacement.

Thanks to your kindness, our partners in Ukraine are bringing hope and stability to those who need it most. Through Children’s Hearts, children and families receive vital support such as food parcels, school supplies, and emotional healing workshops. These essentials not only feed the body, but also nurture the spirit.

Recently, as a new school year began, Children’s Hearts distributed school supplies to children so they could return to class prepared and confident. For families already struggling to afford food and heating, these items are often out of reach — but your support made it possible. The children’s joy and excitement were heartwarming to see.

Beyond the practical help, Children’s Hearts offers children a place of safety and belonging. At the centre, they join art lessons, after-school clubs, homework support and special summer camps — moments filled with laughter, creativity, and friendship. Here, they can forget the sounds of war for a while and simply be children again. Many describe the centre, and Alyona who leads it, as their “second family.”

Your generosity helps rebuild more than homes — it rebuilds childhoods, confidence, and hope for a brighter future.

Thank you for making this possible. Together, we are helping children heal, grow, and dream again.

Save the Date! On GivingTuesday—Dec. 2 at 12 a.m. through Dec. 3 at 12 p.m. EST—your donation can go even further. Thanks to GlobalGiving's $500,000 matching funds, gifts to our project will be boosted, helping us unlock additional funds to create an even bigger impact.

With heartfelt gratitude,

ChildAid to Eastern Europe
